What is Leverage?

This is CashFlow Quadrant of Robert T. Kiyosaki, best known as the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad – the #1 personal finance book of all time. The ‘E’ stands for Employee, the ‘S’ for Self-employed, the ‘B’ for Business-owner, and the ‘I’ for Investor.

Now what is the catch? In the world of network marketing you cannot find a simple networker in any four quadrants of Kiyosaki. The networker cannot be an ‘E’ (employee) because s/he has no employment contract; although s/he has a nature of being a salesman. S/he cannot also be an ‘S’ and ‘B’ (self-employed and business-owner consecutively) because s/he does not own the business. Lastly, s/he is not an ‘I’ (investor) because a networker only registers a certain amount of money for membership not as a portfolio or passive income.

The truth in the world of networking the networker or so-called upline/downline is merely exercises the duty of a salesman. The true Bs and Is here are the founder of the network because the founder understands the philosophy of Kiyosaki. They understand the word leverage. LEVERAGE SIMPLY MEANS THE ABILITY TO DO MORE WITH LESS. They have the product, they have the company, and to make it work they must have leverage and that leverage is the salesman of the network. In order to keep the cash flowing into their vault, the founder DO LESS by keeping their upline/downline DOING MORE. The founder DO LESS by promising them a luxurious life and in return the upline/downline must work hard and DO MORE to keep the company breathing and kicking, without them the networking is nothing.

The upline/downline does not understand the true meaning of the word leverage. Because if they do, why are they not starting their own business? Why they chose to be someone else’s leverage?

However, life is a choice. The choices we make are an ordinary business of life. It could cost you gain or loss. Each choice we make lead us to our path and each path needs leverage. Leverage is hard to find that is why few outstand in the sea of people like Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, Ellen Degeneres, Fra Luca Pacioli, James Cameron, Jose Rizal, Michael Jackson, Mother Theresa, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Thomas Edison, Tom Hanks, and a handful of others.

These people from various field used their leverage to make a remarkable difference. As Kiyosaki stressed out, if being a doctor is your leverage then heal people, if being an engineer is your leverage then build things, if being an accountant is your leverage then account all, if being a police is your leverage then wage for peace and order, if being a teacher is your leverage then provide learning. When you used your leverage effectively, you can change the world. You just only have to find that leverage which God wants you to use.
